A Tribute to Travieso

Although this is a fashion blog I do want to share pieces of my life and use this space to share my thoughts, so for this blog, I will be writing a tribute to my handsome boy, Travieso.

Recently, my childhood pet, Travieso, crossed the rainbow bridge. Losing him has been the most difficult thing I’ve ever experienced. He was more than a pet, he was my baby, my best friend, and my entire world. I do not want to disclose too much information about his passing, but he was diagnosed with diabetes and pancreatitis in the last couple of months, and even with daily vet visits, we weren’t able to regulate his insulin intake on time.

Despite everything he went through, he was a fighter through it all. Even before he was diagnosed, he was my protector and my strength. To be quite honest, he wasn’t the nicest to others — hence the name — but with me, he was the biggest sweetheart. We shared so many great memories together and for that I am grateful.

My favorite memory is the very first day I met him. My sister’s friend found him in the trash at a park but she was unable to keep him since she lived in an apartment, so she asked if we were able to take him in. She brought him over and we let him explore our backyard. He was extremely excited and ran around the entire backyard running over my mom’s plants and throwing everything on the floor. Because of that, we gave him the name Travieso and boy did that name fit him very well.

It has been a month since he passed and not a day goes by that I don’t miss him. I haven’t had the energy to do anything, which is why I postponed going live. Grieving has been such a weird and horrible experience, but I know my baby boy will always be with me just like he would always follow me around the house.

To my Traviesito, I love you eternally. I can’t wait for you to guide me to the other side when my turn comes.
